🐾 The Volunteer

For the past three years, Daniela has volunteered at an animal shelter every Saturday. She has always loved animals, but she can't have a dog because her flat is too small.

At the shelter, she walks the dogs, cleans their cages and helps new visitors choose a pet. The work is sometimes hard, especially in winter, but she has never thought about stopping.

Last month, a family adopted an old dog called Rex. Nobody had wanted him for two years, and Daniela was worried that he would never find a home. When the family sent her a photo of Rex sleeping on their sofa, she felt proud and happy. "That's why I do it," she says.
