The question word goes at the start of the question.

Where do you live?where = place
Who is that man?who = person
When is your birthday?when = time
How much and how many
How many with things you can count (apples, people). How much with things you can't count (water, money) and for prices.
How many brothers have you got?
How much water do you drink?
How much is this?asking the price
Word order
Question word + auxiliary (is, are, do, does) + subject.
Where are you from?
What does she do?asking about someone's job
How old are you?
Tip: In English we say “How old are you?”, not “How many years do you have?”
